American Football - s/t LP

Tracks:
  1. Never Meant
  2. The Summer Ends
  3. Honestly?
  4. For Sure
  5. You Know I Should Be Leaving Soon
  6. But The Regrets Are Killing Me
  7. I'll See You When We're Both Not So Emotional
  8. Stay Home
  9. The One With The Wurlitzer

This is a beautiful, beautiful album bottom-lined by the one and only Mike Kinsella, formerly of Cap'n Jazz and currently of Owen (alongside a profusion of other musical endeavors). This is the only album American Football released, aside from a short ep, but it is all you need. One of the best emo albums to ever exist (possibly). Play this on repeat. Trust me.

Get it here.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - Etiquette

Tracks:
1. Etiquette I.D.
2. New Years Kiss
3. Young Shields
4. I Love Creedence
5. Nashville Parthenon
6. Scattered Pearls
7. Happy Mother's Day
8. Holly Hobby
9. Cold White Christmas
10. Bobby Malone Moves Home
11. Don't They Have Payphones Where You Were Last Night
12. Love Connection

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, CFTPA, is the solo project of Owen Ashworth, a cuddly bearded man from California. He primarily uses simple Casio keyboards and drum machines to create heartbreaking minimalist pop that will make you wish you were still 16. I suggest New Years Kiss, Young Shields, I Love Creedence, Scattered Pearls, and Holly Hobby. Then again, I suggest all of them all of the time.

Jesu - Silver

Tracks:
1. Silver
2. Star
3. Wolves
4. Dead Eyes

Jesu is the current project of Justin Broadrick, formerly of Godflesh and Napalm Death. Don't let that cloud your eyes, though, Jesu is not like his former projects. While he incorporates heavy guitar, Jesu is a beautiful mix of ambiance, post-metal, drone, shoegaze, and downtempo. It's a hard project to group anywhere, thus the laundry-list of genre names.
This is the Silver ep, a personal favorite of mine. There is a Japanese version out there somewhere with two extra tracks (alternative versions of Silver and Wolves), but this is all you really need to experience what Jesu is. I'll probably post more Jesu at a later time, but enjoy.

God is an Astronaut - All is Violent, All is Bright

Tracks:
1. Fragile
2. All is Violent, All is Bright
3. All is Lost
4. Fireflies and Empty Skies
5. A Deafening Distance
6. Infinite Horizons
7. Suicide by Star
8. Remembrance Day
9. Dust and Echoes
10. When Everything Dies

God is an Astronaut is an Irish instrumental post-rock band. It's one of the only bands I know that can successfully use double-bass pedals. I suggest track 7 (Suicide by Star). My personal favorite. There is also a hidden track after the When Everything Dies.

Dntel - Life is Full of Possibilities

Tracks:
1. Umbrella
2. Anywhere Anyone
3. Pillowcase
4. Fear of Corners
5. Suddenly is Sooner Than You Think
6. Life is Full of Possibilities
7. Why I'm So Unhappy
8. Fireworks
9. (This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan
10. Last Songs

This is a project by James Scott Tamborello, half the brains behind Postal Service (the electronic half). This is the album that spawned the connection between Tamborello and Ben Gibbard, actually. Gibbard wrote the lyrics for and sang the track (This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan. Suppose that makes it the first postal service song then, doesn't it?

First post gogo.

Here's the first post. Not much to say. I'll be starting this tonight, and I'll keep it going long as I can. Enjoy the tunes!
